I wanted to share this quote because I'm about to enter highschool, a time for discovering who you are. Now highschool is going to be a time for creating myself, not finding myself. Instead of searching for who you are, you should create yourself in a way that you like. You shouldn't go and find an artificial you. Instead, why not create yourself in a way that makes you feel great and not fake.

I want to be able to live in the way I want to live and not in a way that society has told me to live. For this week, just keep this quote in your mind and heart. I know I will, since this is my first week as a freshman. Hope you have a blessed week!:)

One of My Inspirations

Most people around the world tuned into the London Olympic Games this summer. There were many icons and inspiring athletes, such as Michael Phelps, Missy Franklin, Usain Bolt, Kerri Walsh Jennings, Misty Mae Treanor, Tom Daley, and LeBron James, just to name a few. Then there were the not- so popular, but equally inspiring athletes such as, Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee who made his debut in track; Kirani James, who took home the first medal ever for his small country; Serena Williams, a great tennis player from England; and Jessica Ennis, a great hurdler in the making. There was also the very famous Fab Five from gymnastics, consisting of Jordyn Wieber, who was denied a chance in the all around finals; McKayla Maroney, who performed a breathtaking vault; Aly Raisman, who won a total of three medals; Kyla Ross, who tried her best for the team finals medal; and of course, who could forget Gabby Douglas.

Gabby Douglas was one of the most talked about female athletes in this games. She made history in gymnastics. Nicknamed the "Flying Squirrel" because of how high she could fly, Gabby was a must see across the country. When she made the all around finals, I was jumping up and down, excited for her accomplishment. When she won the all around finals, I was even more excited. I believe I had tears running down my cheeks for the young gymnast. What even struck me further was the stuff she said to a reporter right after she won:

"I give all the glory to God. It's kind of a win-win situation. The glory goes up to him and the blessings fall down on me." This has become a very popular quote by the sixteen year old. I love this quote and use it all the time. I posted it on my Facebook just before I went to my highschool swim team tryouts. And after I made the team, I gave all the glory to God. It's easy to say that people like Gabby inspire us to push ourselves to be the best we can be. Gabby has some sort of characteristic that makes her appealing. She's touched the hearts of many, inspired young gymnasts, and has caught the eye of people across the nation. The "Flying Squirrel" has flown to new heights and has claimed the attention of many followers. She is an amazing girl, and I hope to see her later in Rio.

Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone's Sunday was a good one! Mine was; I had an awesome church service with my family and then had a good swim workout with my Dad. So at today's church service, the speaker talked about how he was called by God to go live in a hotel in Houston and help build a new church in a very rural part of the city. No matter how much he fought it, in the end, he still had to move to the Houston area. God kept speaking to him, telling him that he had to do this for him. The speaker didn't want to leave his nice house to go live in some very isolated place. He wanted to have everything he had worked so hard to gain, but he knew that God had a bigger plan for him.
So this is a lesson learned for all of us. Don't try to fight God's will because he can see the bigger picture. He knows what's right for us and he wants to try to guide us in the right direction. The only thing we have to decide is whether or not we will follow him.

So the question I want you to really think about is this:
If God asked you to move somewhere far away to do some work for NO pay, would you?

New Beginnings

School is going but my half marathon traning is going slow! It takes a lot of dedication and hard work, but it's all worth it! I love running and swimming, but I also like sitting down and reading a book or writing stories, books, and blogs. I just love being creative and expressing myself. One of my inspirations is Michael Phelps. One of his quotes really inspired me. " So many people along the way, whatever it is you aspire to do, will tell you it can't be done. But all it takes is imagination. You dream. You plan. You reach. There will be obsticles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, with belief, with confidence and trust in yourself and those around you, there are no limits." Isn't that quote inspiring? I love it! I think Michael is trying to make you belive in yourself. It did that to me! Did it do it to you???
